Essencia is a family run project that was born out of the desire to live in harmony with nature and with ourselves. Nestled in 20 hectares of native woodland and off the grid, we aim to provide a beautiful and inspiring stay in nature, far from the busy pace of modern life.
Motivated by our own life experiences, we host holistic, educational retreats and courses; and we promote a conscious lifestyle.
We are situated in the countryside of Aljezur, Portugal. A short drive away from the breathtaking, unspoiled beaches of Southwest Algarve and the famous trails of Costa Vicentina Natural Park.
Faro is the closest airport and it's about one hour drive.

THE EXPERIENCE
HOSTING

Essencia provides you and your clients the beautiful and serene environment a retreat requires.
We believe in the healing power of nature and we would like to share it with our guests.
ACCOMMODATION:
The accommodation is a Portuguese style country house that overlooks the forest, and just by sitting on the deck chairs of your balcony, you feel the positive effect of being in nature.
The guesthouse has 6 rooms, of which 4 double and 2 triple and can host up to 14 people.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom, independent entrance and beautiful views.
A cute wooden cabin (double room with bathroom) is also part of the property and it’s provided to the retreat organizer.
YOGA AND HOLISTIC/HEALING ARTS:
The yoga studio or “Gaia Shala” is a natural, organic construction, situated in a magical area among cork trees, which makes it a very special place to practice.
It’s equipped with pro mats, bolsters, belts, blankets and cork blocks by Manduka.
We also offer for an extra cost a range of therapies and activities, like massage treatments, sound healing sessions, surf classes, nature mindful walks, etc.

FOOD:
Since we promote a conscious lifestyle, the food also aligns with that vision.
Our chefs prepare nutritious vegetarian/vegan meals using organic, local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible.
BOOKING AND PAYMENT
DEPOSIT:
For retreats and courses, a deposit of 30% is required to secure your space.
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Please consider well the circumstances before placing the deposit.
REMAINDER PAYMENT:
Remainder payment is due 6 weeks prior to the start of your program.
Remainder payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If we don’t receive the remainder payment on time, we reserve the right to cancel the event.
TRAVEL CANCELATION INSURANCE:
No one books with the intention of cancelling or postponing but unexpected things do happen, therefore we strongly recommend you to purchase travel cancelation insurance.
Exceptions to our policy cannot be made for any reason.
